The sculpture is carved in Crema Marfil marble, a cream-toned stone with fine veining quarried at Monte Coto (Pinoso, Alicante, Spain).

In this piece, the same material appears with two finishes: matte on the front and polished on the inner curve. The difference shows how the stone changes in the light depending on how its surface is treated.
